hope it's today

well, this morning i had my doc appt that i vowed i would not have to go to. alas, i did. i am still contracting a ton, and things actually progressed. i was dilated to a 3 when they checked me, and i was hoping they would say ok, go to the hospital and we will put you on some pitocin. the doc at the hospital said he would not do that, because the risk of a c section would be higher. they are worried that i wouldn't progress fast enough, and they would have to take her. so they finally after 20 minutes of discussion, agreed to strip my membranes. that was done the day that rebekah and caleb were born, so we are crossing our fingers. all 3 babies have been born at 230am, so we are hoping it will be before that today!! the 28th is a good day, let's just hope this little baby agrees!! everyone say a prayer that this goes quickly and everyone is healthy at the end of all this!! we are all ready to have her here. colby comes in every morning to ask if i had the baby during the night. he doesn't understand that once i do, i won't be home!! silly child. well, here's to agonizing contractions!!!

nothing's happening!!

ok people, i am officially 36 weeks and able to have this baby. i stopped taking my meds last night, and am really hoping things start happening soon. i woke up afraid to get out of bed, thinking i would be in so much pain. other than the pressure of her head being so flipping low (she dropped on thursday) i am not in horrible pain from contractions. there have been a few times in the past few weeks when i was sure it was happening, but the drugs always stopped it. now, if i could just get it to start again, they won't stop it!! i know everyone is as anxious as i am to meet this little darling troublemaker!! it's funny, i've known this whole time of laying down that i was going to have another baby, and have been excited about it. but the other day, i just realized that means i will have 4 kids!! how funny is that? i am not the brightest pregnant lady in the world. i am more than ready to get this show on the road, so everyone cross your fingers for me that it starts soon. yay for epidurals!! they are the only way i would have had more than colby. :) well, that's all for now. i'll post when things start happening, or i'll have nathan do it once we're done. we'll see.

Colby's conversation with his dad

I am extremely insecure about the way I am raising my children and the example I set for them. Last night I was sitting in bed watching deadliest catch (which I just love) while Colby snuggled next to me. So I decided to ask him what he thought of me.

"Colby?"
"Yeah Dad"
"Is there anything that Im doing that you think I could do better?"
"Huh?"
"Are there things that I can do better?"
"Yeah dad!!!"
"oh really.....like what?"
"SIGHHHHHH...I cant tell you dad there's just way to many."

Isnt that just a nice kick in the teeth for me....I laughed for quite awhile after this and Im sure Colby thought I was going insane because he was looking at me with a lot of concern... it was right after this that he told me he is going to marry his babysitter Whitley and he already told her as well...she's 12 and he's 6...that should work out.

Im THAT Parent!!!!!

Ok...just to clear things up from the start, this is Nathan and NOT Marne. Just a little disclaimer so I dont get shot in my sleep.
I took Colby to his soccer game this morning. For those who dont know Colby, he is gentle and kind and couldnt hurt a fly...basically the exact opposite of me. But he loves sports and is Extremely good at them...the exact opposite of me. So anyway, his team is playing the "Snakes" and they are the best team in the league by far. Mostly because they have this one kid who is a star, and unfortunately he knows it. His dad is the coach and he lets this brat get away with anything on the field. Case in point, today this kid started out, not by trying to kick the ball, but by trying to trip and shove the players going for it. He came up behind 3 kids and had tripped them to the ground and this was in the first 2 minutes of the game. Our coaches complaints to their coach fell on deaf ears and he didnt discipline the kid at all. There are no refs...the coaches are supposed to officiate. 1 minute later Colby had a break, all alone streaking for the goal this kid runs up behind him and does a perfect slide kick, sweeping the legs and sending Colby flying face first into the ground. In a normal game it was very red card worthy...but I digress.
At this moment we should pause to contemplate that before the game, I told all the other parents that I wasnt going to say a word this time). We've had problems with this team before :)

Moving forward, I immediately jumped out of my seat screaming at their coach that this was the 4th time this kid has hurt one of ours. I guess I scared the crap out of their coach (2 of them in fact) because they both walked very fast away from me and they are big guys. But anyways, I stormed out onto the field and picked up my son and carried him off while he balled his little eyes out. My screaming sent the little brat into hysterics as well and he stormed off the field to his mother who said he wouldnt play anymore if parents were going to yell at him.
I took Colby aside, gave him a drink and told him to stop being kind to the other team. I told him he wasnt allowed to push, shove, hit or kick but he was to get that ball and score. He did, twice in the next 2 minutes and then he just walked around the rest of the game bored.

Well in the aftermath of my anger, no parents would talk to me and everyone avoided me. Their coach said that the boy was just aggressive going for the ball. I would agree if the ball was anywhere near this kid when he was tripping everyone, but it wasnt. The game played wonderfully well after that. The teams had fun and things settled down nicely. The parents of the players on my team, though they ignored me the rest of the game, commented that they were glad I did that. Our coach came up to me afterward and said she was logging a complaint with the office about the kid and his coaches letting him do that stuff.

I dont agree with me yelling....but Id had enough. I dont even blame the kid...I blame his father coach who wouldnt stop him, and his mother who blamed me for making his soccer experience a bad one. My final comment to myself...teach your kid how to play right and you wont have this issue. Im glad Colby is a good sport, and grumpy I had to tell him to stop being nice in order to play a game. Most of all...Im angry that I had to stand up and walk onto a field to make sure that no more kids got hurt....Im THAT parent now. Rednecks of the world stand up and unite.

ok, come on!!

alright, i didn't have any new pics on my computer, they still need to be downloaded. so here is caleb almost 2 years ago. hasn't changed much except the hair, huh? well, to break up the monotony of our life, nate's sister kris, and her family came down to spend their spring break with us. it was very fun for everyone, rebekah keeps saying, i really like those kids, when will we see them again? they all had fun being fussed over by the older girls. they went to the zoo and rode the camel and the train, and all sorts of fun stuff. i'll post those pics as soon as i have them.

on another note, monday, i passed out at the doctor's office, so apparently it is protocol to have the fire dept come and make sure you are ok before they send you to the er. that was embarrassing, let me tell you. after 7 hours of waiting, i finally gave up and signed myself out. i wasn't dying, so what was i waiting for? the ultrasound and nst the next few days were normal, so i'm not worried. i am still have a lot of contractions, but according to my appt today, it isn't changing the cervix at all, so i just keep doing what i'm doing. they did switch me to another anti-contraction drug, so hopefully that one will work a little better. i went to my mom's house yesterday, thinking i could lay on her couch as easily as i could on my own. it was good to have a change of scenery, but man, i'm paying for it today. it has seemed like one long nasty contraction all day. maybe sleeping will help. i have read virtually every book i can get my hands on, and i even reread the twilight series. i am doing logic puzzles now, and those are fun. i am at 30 weeks, so just 6 more to go, if i don't completely lose it by then!! wish me luck everyone, and it's fun to see everyone's comments. keep them coming!! oh yeah, her name is going to be rachel, but we are still looking for a middle name.

hair cut

ok, this picture doesn't really do it justice, she was looking weird here. but a few weeks ago, we came to the land of the living sunday morning, and found a huge pile of long brown hair in the trash. my first thought was that they had cut a doll's hair, because they knew better than to cut real hair. right? WRONG!!! apparently, the pony tail i had in rebekah's hair was in her face when she woke up, and decided to CHOP IT OFF!!! i was horrified. like i said, this picture doesn't really show the extent of the damage. around her entire crown is about 2 inches in several spots. i was at a loss as to what to even with it, but thankfully sandy came to the rescue again. she has been putting tiny ponytails all the way from the front of her head, down to the middle, catching all the tiny hairs. she actually looks really cute, like it was planned that way!! sheesh. anyway, to fill everyone in on my status. i am still having a lot of contractions, and have been switched over to a motrin regiment. i don't remember if i already said that somewhere. it works really well at covering up the pain, but apparently not at stopping the contractions. at my appt on monday, i found out that i am starting to dilate and efface a little. so now i am on strict stay down bedrest, which is not very fun. also, i had the series of steroid shots in the bum to help develop baby's lungs, just in case she decides to be born soon. i am at 28 weeks, and hope to get to 36. we'll see what she decides to do. i'll keep everyone posted, and have a good day!!!
