my kids are growing up!!

ok everyone, i am a bad posting girl, but the kids had their bday party last weekend. colby and his friend diego were both born on the same day, the 19th, so now that we are back in town, we went back to the joint bday party for them. and since rebekah is a week later, on the 26th, we threw hers in too. so we had about 25 kids here for a pool party.....and it was the one rainy, cold day of the year. we hurried to get into the pool before the rain started, and lasted about 30 min before they all declared they were too cold to stay in any longer. we had them all jump on the trampoline to dry off, then come inside for cake and presents. it went as well as the circumstances allowed, so it was good.

then later that evening, the dad's all went to the asu football game, so diego's mom, cami, and i went out. when we got home, all the kids were sprawled out on the floor and couches, sound asleep. i just had to run and grab the camera. they were hilarious!!!

also, today has been quite a day. it started when i got the bright idea to do some weeding. i was out there for probably half an hour, pulling the most stubborn weeds in the world. that grass does not want to be removed from its home! first, i had a really firm grip on some weeds, and pulled them out. in the process, a pile of dirt flew into my face, and some landed directly in my right eye. i blinked and tried to spray the hose on it to get it out. it really burned, but i figured i was a dork, and should get on with it. then i got this excruciating pain in my hand, so i literally threw off the gloves, and ran to the front door. it was locked, so i knocked like a crazy person, hoping nathan would hear my distress and come running. he was in the shower, but my father in law opened the door for me. he looked at me like i was crazy, but i didn't care, it really hurt. i went into the bathroom where nathan was to show him my owie. it was a blister on the side of my middle finger that was huge, and had popped then was rubbed raw so it bled. talk about pain. so i got in the shower hoping to alleviate the pain with the nice warm water. bad idea, soap and shampoo on a cut do not feel very good. so i got dressed and whined some more to nathan. throughout the day, my eye got blurry, and more irritated. so i finally gave up and went to the eye doc. they got me in right away, and after examining me, said i had scratched my eye several times under the eyelid. to make sure it was not going to do so, he put numbing drops in my eye, then flipped my eyelid inside out to scrape it with a qtip. even with the drops, it was not pleasant. he gave me some more drops and told me i should be fine in a couple days. sheesh. why not??

I dont hate...I just dislike immensely..especially trough urinals

Ok, first off, did anyone see this loser who posted a video defending britney spears??? I really hope so, because he is just the tip of the iceberg in todays blog. Here is the video...be careful, it does contain the f bomb ... http://youtube.com/watch?v=LWSjUe0FyxQ&feature=bz301
Just some thoughts for this dork...
A. I had no idea you were male until my brother mentioned it...even then I didnt believe him.
B. Nice eyebrows, can I get the number of your stylist...I need to wax my backhair.
C. Speaking of stylists... you might want to pick a hair color....Im sure blondes everywhere are praying that you pick the black...Gives them a little more credit for brains anyway.
D. Oh and I just love the mascara and eye makeup...Drag queens everywhere have arisen in solute...

Ok thats enough. I seriously cant stop laughing whenever I think about it.
My next dislike... Trough urinals.
Thats right folks you read correct. I have spent time at 2 different football stadiums where the mens restrooms contain troughs, rather than single urinals. I must voice my disgust. Proper etiquette dictates that there should be atleast 1 1/2 persons length between you and the next person. This keeps everyone from having to see what the other man is carrying in his trunk. It also serves as a splash guard for those who feel the need to shake a little too vigorously (I will get back to this). This means that there is usually only room enough for 2 at a time. There is nothing worse than standing there, relieving the prostate, ensuring proper space and comfortability and having a fat old man wiggle and squeeze in between you and the next man already mid-show. Then while his shoulders are bumping yours, he drops trow, thrusts out his hips to make sure EVERYONE knows what he's got, takes a quick peak at yours to compare and begins to go. Then to top it off...he tries to engage you in conversation as though you were sitting around the campfire eating s'mores. This is when I stop going, regardless of how long I have waited, or relieved. Unfortunately, this guy decided he was done as quick as he started, and began to shake off like his arm was connected to a piston engine. Well, now everyone is running for cover and an old man was left standing at the trough urinal wondering why he is all alone.

Finally...I could go on forever, but Im tired and hungry. I can only say that the next time I travel all the way to Oklahoma to watch BYU play, they better not leave their defense sitting on the porcelain rim back home...what a complete waste of cash.

my kiddies

colby lost his first tooth yesterday!! he just told me it was wiggly on friday after school. then it was falling out on wednesday. it officially fell out on thursday morning. he is so big!! and of course, it was picture day. so here he is just before school. isn't he cute??

this is a little old, but here are the cute kiddies. they were in michigan on vacation, and thought this bathtub was cooler than any toy.

i'm sitting here with kids running everywhere throughout the house. it is mighty hectic right now. caleb is on the table throwing a ball to his friends, and rebekah and isaac are dressed up as princesses. i had pics of that too, but they are floating around somewhere on the computer as well. they sure are cute, but very weird!! now, they are standing behind the shears over the window, and all three of them running across the room out of them. it is hilarious!!!!

we made it!!

ok everyone, i just had to let you all know that we made it through the weekend!! i know that doesn't sound like a great feat to most of you, but it was for us! nathan was awake for 25 hours by the time he got to bed last night, (after midnight, i might add!). i hosted a bunko party at my house, which in case you don't know what that is, it is a fun game involving 12 ladies, where i had to provide the food, and prizes. so that was stressful in and of itself. anyway, back to the point. we were called on monday night to speak in church today. add that to the rollercoaster life has been, and you understand our week! actually, both of our talks went surprisingly well, surprising because i don't speak well! nathan is a natural, gifted speaker. he makes me sick! :) afterwards, we were actually told by an older lady that it was the best sacrament meeting she had ever attended. how's that for everyone? i am betting this lady has been to a lot of them too!! :) so that made me feel pretty good about the whole thing. much better than i had hoped. sorry this is so disjointed, hopefully it makes sense! it's late!

also, in case you all didn't know, we have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now. i miscarried last month, and this month is still quite painful. just shoot me. enough said on that.

nathan is doing the last of this horrid schedule tomorrow, cross you fingers that the post office really did get someone lined up to replace him, or i may scream! then we will go back to a normal schedule of midnight to 8. how normal that is, i'm not sure. but hey, we'll get to see nathan again for a few hours a day. happy day!!

oh, another tidbit. i plugged in my digital camera to the little port on the computer, and downloaded my pictures like i was supposed to, right? wrong. i didn't realize what program opened automatically to put my pictures into, and now my pics are floating around somewhere on the computer, where i cannot access them!! even nathan can't pull them up anywhere for me. i was going to show you all the pics of the kids in their halloween costumes. i just bought them, and they were too cute to wait!! colby will be a ninja turtle, rebekah a princess, and caleb........ CHICKEN LITTLE!!!! can anyone else picture how adorable he will look? i found all of these costumes for a little under 20 bucks. i love 2nd hand stores!!! hopefully we will find the pics somewhere, and you can see them.
oh, and one more thing. liz, if you are an honorary gresko, that is good enough for me!! call me and we can hang out!! i'll pretend i'm heather! :) without the baby girl inside.

Death to palm trees, dentists, and insomnia everywhere

Yes its wonderful old me again, (Nathan for those who cant see me). I just wanted to fill you all in on how this last week was. The title should explain everything.
Palm trees...the idiot that owned this home before us must have had been trying to compensate for something. He planted palm trees EVERYWHERE and let most of them grow to over 100 feet. Well, they can look cool once in awhile, but they are useless, unless you are counting on them to completely clog up your pool pumps...then they are a pool repairmans dream. Thats right folks, my pool is clogged AGAIN, just from the seeds and crap that fall from the 8 0r 9 trees right around the pool. I probably shouldnt tell you that I have wonderful dreams involving chain saws and giant bon fires...someday (sigh)
Dentists make number 2 on my list. I could leave it at this first statement and ask you to ponder all the puns of the number 2. "Who does number 2 work for?" ANYWAY, I once again had to have a root canal. This time it was due to a taquito that was too hard and took a chunk the size of texas out of my back molar. I hate the drills, the grinding on my teeth, the numbness...and oh yeah... this now marks the second time Ive had a root canal that I could feel them yanking the nerves out of my teeth....PAIN PEOPLE.............oh the agony
Finally, insomnia. I actually dont suffer from an inability to sleep. I suffer from a lack to time to sleep. The post office asked me to pick up an emergency contract this week. This means that I do my run from 11pm to 5am, and then do the emergency run from 5am to 6pm. I get home about 7 and go straight to sleep. Thats right folks...4 hours a night. Happy days are here again.

In all seriousness though, I am actually pretty happy. This week was just a rough one. It wasnt the first and it definitely wont be the last. Football has started, and while I miss my BYU season tickets (we had sweet seats), I compensated partially by getting ASU ticks. Well, thats all for now...talk later.
