Posting Brilliance

Ok...so Marne comes up to me and throws a camera in my lap and says, "start blogging." As if I had nothing better to do with my time. In truth, I dont, so here I am, putting up pics of our trip to a friends cabin and then Marne and my trip back east. I had to get a car for work and drive it back, so Marne decided to make it a hubby and wife time......it was fun...so without further crap from the worthless bottomless chasms of my mundane mind...some pics......
The first is me and my unfortunate nerdiness coming out...I just had to put my head in a T-rex's mouth. Next is Marne with a triceratops. I dont know why we got her with it as it is MYYY favorite dino...but I digress...Then me with a woolly mammoth...did I mention we are at the museum of natural history....no naked people though...au natural' get it??...ok its not funny....
Marne made chocolate chex mix and Bekah just had to have the chocolate...I think its cute, then Colby and Caleb at the cabin...we have tons more pics...but being the impatient person I am...I dont want to post anymore.

our vacation

ok everyone, you may have noticed that we haven't posted for a while lately. we have a good reason for that. nathan needed a new car for the postal run, and my dad just happened to have a car in virginia that he was replacing. so, we ended up buying it from him. we flew up to baltimore on sunday, and did the dc thing monday and tuesday. now, we have started on our long journey home. we are currently in a hotel in knoxville tennessee. aren't you jealous that you can't drive 2500 miles in a little metro too?? we'll post some pics when we get home. have fun everyone!!

Change is in the air

I have received so many responses to the statement of me being shy that I thought I should reply in a post.
Contrary to what people think, I have always been VERY shy. Once I get to know a person, then I open up and can relax, and become a bit overbearing, as those close to me know. The problem is that very few people are close to me anymore. I haven't made a real friend, wife excluded, since I left high school, and for some reason the ones I had, excepting Mark Despain and Brian Bowen, wont talk to me. Once I figured out that my friends werent friends anymore, I stopped trying to be one. Sappy and stupid maybe, but thats neither here nor there. The point is, if I havent spoken to you in over a year, I wont take the initiative to go talk to you if our paths cross. In truth, most of me thinks that no one wants to talk to me (that is the depression talking..yet another story). So I stay on the periphery and peep into peoples lives and smile that they are happy and doing good. this way its easy to avoid uncomfy encounters when the other person really doesnt want to talk to you.
My wife thinks me being shy is funny, most of the time. She had to ask me out on our first date. I dont think its funny, I just think its who I am. So if you think of me and have a view of someone other than a quiet reserved man, then I must have thought of you as a friend at one point in our lives, and thats pretty cool to me. Just dont be surprised that I know more of my personality than you do.
Heather thinks Im crazy, my mom is just fed up with it. But whats new...

Peepers but not Toms

I think anyone who reads this knows who is writing simply from the moronic title. I thought that I would have some fun and go around and read everyone else's blogs that I know. Its been fun to peep into the lives of so many people. I already keep up with regular postings of Liz and Adam and their adorable little boy, as well as Heather and her misery for the moment. But it was even more fun to drop into other peoples pages and see what life has been for them. For instance:
I think Shanda is crazy for going to cloth diapers. Thats all they had in Africa and I ruined more than a few pants holding babies. Not to mention, it involves a lot more close contact with poop...and I am so happy to just fling those things in the trash. No offense, but still...insane.
Suzi and Jared seemed to have a blast in Hawaii and that is putting it mild. Jealousy rages as I so want to learn to surf...but there definitely isn't the time.
I also popped in on Sherrie and Doug, Kendra and Barry, Marenda and Sam, and countless others who I thought I might know. Of course, I didnt leave any comments, I'm 30 years old and still have a massive shy complex...My mother berated me the other day for it...but thats who I am. Its great to see that everyone is doing so well...it makes me happy.
On a much better note..the miserable shifts have ended. I finally found 2 employees that are able to cover the shifts and not give me a heart attack at the same time. This means that I will only have to work nights when I cover for them. Oh happy day!!!!!!!

my kids are growing up!!

ok everyone, i am a bad posting girl, but the kids had their bday party last weekend. colby and his friend diego were both born on the same day, the 19th, so now that we are back in town, we went back to the joint bday party for them. and since rebekah is a week later, on the 26th, we threw hers in too. so we had about 25 kids here for a pool party.....and it was the one rainy, cold day of the year. we hurried to get into the pool before the rain started, and lasted about 30 min before they all declared they were too cold to stay in any longer. we had them all jump on the trampoline to dry off, then come inside for cake and presents. it went as well as the circumstances allowed, so it was good.

then later that evening, the dad's all went to the asu football game, so diego's mom, cami, and i went out. when we got home, all the kids were sprawled out on the floor and couches, sound asleep. i just had to run and grab the camera. they were hilarious!!!

also, today has been quite a day. it started when i got the bright idea to do some weeding. i was out there for probably half an hour, pulling the most stubborn weeds in the world. that grass does not want to be removed from its home! first, i had a really firm grip on some weeds, and pulled them out. in the process, a pile of dirt flew into my face, and some landed directly in my right eye. i blinked and tried to spray the hose on it to get it out. it really burned, but i figured i was a dork, and should get on with it. then i got this excruciating pain in my hand, so i literally threw off the gloves, and ran to the front door. it was locked, so i knocked like a crazy person, hoping nathan would hear my distress and come running. he was in the shower, but my father in law opened the door for me. he looked at me like i was crazy, but i didn't care, it really hurt. i went into the bathroom where nathan was to show him my owie. it was a blister on the side of my middle finger that was huge, and had popped then was rubbed raw so it bled. talk about pain. so i got in the shower hoping to alleviate the pain with the nice warm water. bad idea, soap and shampoo on a cut do not feel very good. so i got dressed and whined some more to nathan. throughout the day, my eye got blurry, and more irritated. so i finally gave up and went to the eye doc. they got me in right away, and after examining me, said i had scratched my eye several times under the eyelid. to make sure it was not going to do so, he put numbing drops in my eye, then flipped my eyelid inside out to scrape it with a qtip. even with the drops, it was not pleasant. he gave me some more drops and told me i should be fine in a couple days. sheesh. why not??

I dont hate...I just dislike immensely..especially trough urinals

Ok, first off, did anyone see this loser who posted a video defending britney spears??? I really hope so, because he is just the tip of the iceberg in todays blog. Here is the video...be careful, it does contain the f bomb ... http://youtube.com/watch?v=LWSjUe0FyxQ&feature=bz301
Just some thoughts for this dork...
A. I had no idea you were male until my brother mentioned it...even then I didnt believe him.
B. Nice eyebrows, can I get the number of your stylist...I need to wax my backhair.
C. Speaking of stylists... you might want to pick a hair color....Im sure blondes everywhere are praying that you pick the black...Gives them a little more credit for brains anyway.
D. Oh and I just love the mascara and eye makeup...Drag queens everywhere have arisen in solute...

Ok thats enough. I seriously cant stop laughing whenever I think about it.
My next dislike... Trough urinals.
Thats right folks you read correct. I have spent time at 2 different football stadiums where the mens restrooms contain troughs, rather than single urinals. I must voice my disgust. Proper etiquette dictates that there should be atleast 1 1/2 persons length between you and the next person. This keeps everyone from having to see what the other man is carrying in his trunk. It also serves as a splash guard for those who feel the need to shake a little too vigorously (I will get back to this). This means that there is usually only room enough for 2 at a time. There is nothing worse than standing there, relieving the prostate, ensuring proper space and comfortability and having a fat old man wiggle and squeeze in between you and the next man already mid-show. Then while his shoulders are bumping yours, he drops trow, thrusts out his hips to make sure EVERYONE knows what he's got, takes a quick peak at yours to compare and begins to go. Then to top it off...he tries to engage you in conversation as though you were sitting around the campfire eating s'mores. This is when I stop going, regardless of how long I have waited, or relieved. Unfortunately, this guy decided he was done as quick as he started, and began to shake off like his arm was connected to a piston engine. Well, now everyone is running for cover and an old man was left standing at the trough urinal wondering why he is all alone.

Finally...I could go on forever, but Im tired and hungry. I can only say that the next time I travel all the way to Oklahoma to watch BYU play, they better not leave their defense sitting on the porcelain rim back home...what a complete waste of cash.
