fun pictures

ok, i finally figured out how to use the scanner on my fax machine! yay! so here are some pics we had done a few weeks ago. aren't they awesome? i thought they couldn't have turned out better! although, rebekah colored on a paper that bled through to the pics she didn't know were under it! no, my baby doesn't have red spots on her! also, here are pics of rebekah, colby, and caleb as babies. do you think they look like rachel?

camera woes

i don't know what the deal is right now, but there are several people i know that had their camera die in the last little while. mine and heather's can be attributed to our lovely kids, which is why we have the cameras in the first place. so i guess it works. anyway, we've been trying to figure out a really cheap way to replace our camera, but also get a decent one. it's impossible, i know. so i had been looking for a few days on craigslist, and found a few. the only problem is that noone is responding back to my inquiries. anyone who knows me, knows that when i want something, or think i need something done, i want it done NOW! so this waiting stuff is for the birds. anyway, i looked on walmart's website, and found a couple i was thinking of ordering for about 130 or so. nathan, who was outside trying to ungreen our pool, comes in, and says he is going to check out the pawn shop (which i didn't even know existed!) around the corner. i was imagining a shady place, and the guy at the counter looking like the guy in men in black that gets his head shot off a few times! so i guess i was a little off. nathan calls me a couple minutes later, and says he found the EXACT model we just ruined, for 60 bucks!! you can't beat that! and now i don't have to download new software, or try to figure out a new camera. it couldn't have worked out better. yippee!! i have new respect for pawn shops now. so thank you, whoever decided they didn't need their camera anymore, cuz we did!! don't you just love pictures??

fun times

ok, so i put new batteries in the ruined camera, trying to get the pictures to download from it. i plugged it in, and..hooray! i did! i was so excited to think maybe it was working ok, then i tried to switch it to take pictures. it made a horrid screeching sound, then went black. so apparently whatever is wrong, is with that part of it. so, i have some new pics, but not from the last few weeks. here is rebekah's arm in the pretty pink cast, thank heavens we are done with that! and me holding rachel. she loved the water. and caleb posing by rachel. he loves his sister, too much sometimes!! and today was picture day for the school kids. they are so cute!! i took a picture with my cell phone before they left for school. they looked pretty spiffy in their new shirts! oh, and on tuesday, i got a call from the school where my sister works as a teacher, from the nurse. they told me that monica had fallen and hit her head, and that i needed to come and get her. i guess, she fell in the hall between her classroom and another, slipping backwards into the window and door. she landed with her head. she got a nasty concussion, but after a ct scan, everything was normal. so i took her back to my house for the night. we had fun. it was like she was on drugs, but wasn't. so, she didn't go back to school yesterday or today. fun times.

too young to roll!!!

ok, since my camera bit the dust, i don't have any pictures, but the other day, rachel......rolled over!! isn't she too young for this stuff?? she has been pushing herself with her feet all across the crib for months now, and on wednesday, she rolled from her stomach to her back!! she was laying by my feet on the ottoman, and the next thing i know, she is looking up at me from her back wondering how she got there!! it's crazy.
so today i was volunteering at the kids' school, so my friend cami had rachel and caleb. when i got to the house, caleb was asleep in the toy room after being reprimanded for spreading styrofoam all over the room (don't you hate that!!), and rachel was asleep on the floor in cami's room. or so i thought. i heard a faint cry coming from the closed bedroom, so i opened it to get rachel. the only problem was that she wasn't there!! i swear it was like i could hear her from another dimension or something. she wasn't on or around the bed, so i went wandering in search of a port a crib, or somewhere else she could be. nowhere. i was starting to panic, so i closed my eyes to listen closely to where the crying was coming from. the ground. so i get on my hands and knees, and miss rachel had rolled over enough that she was fully laying under the middle of the bed, on her back, screaming her full on lungs out. i'm still not sure how she got there. cami says she put her down on the floor next to the bed. she managed to push herself and roll to a pretty crazy spot! she calmed right down when i pulled her out from under there, but has a nice scratch and bruise on her arm from smacking the support beams under the bed! silly girl. i'm just glad she wasn't in an alternate universe......

family pictures

when we were in utah last week, my brother in law graciously offered to take our family pics. the only problem with this was the fact that we were not given very much notice, and caleb was a little hellion!! we couldn't decide if there was enough time before dinner was to be ready on sunday afternoon, or if we should just wait until monday. the weather forecast predicted rain and high winds, so at the last minute, dave said, let's do it now. so i rushed to get everyone dressed, and my hair straightened. everyone else was great, but caleb insisted he keep on the clothes he was wearing, and not put on the ones that matched everyone else for the picture. if you know him at all, you know that he is the sweetest kid in the world, but if you cross him when he's cranky, watch out!! that is what i did, i am sad to say. he did not stop screaming and crying after we put his clothes on for the 3rd time. during the entire photo shoot he screamed. either he was sitting on nathan's lap bent over with his head on the floor, or he just sat with his eyes screwed tightly shut with quite a grimace on his face. so, the pics just didn't turn out very good. nathan wants to remember these fun times, so we are blowing up this picture and hanging it on the wall. it will sure be a good conversation piece!!
and on another note, i realize that i had a baby less than 3 months ago, but i have never in all my life been so huge. i usually don't have much trouble getting the weight to fall off while i'm nursing, but this has been horrid. i don't have anything i can squeeze my large buttox into, and the tops all look ridiculous with my large chest. it is very frustrating. so, needless to say, hopefully i will get be skinny again, and caleb will be happy for the next family picture!!
oh, i almost forgot. i found my camera. well, actually colby did. i asked if he knew where it was, and he said, it's on the pool gate mom. how he knew that, i am not sure. but now i remember. we brought rachel out with us to swim and wanted to capture the fun on camera. nathan must have hung the camera up when we were getting out to help dry everyone off. and we forgot about it. the only problem with this is that it rained. A LOT! so now camera has....bit the dust. crap.

we're back!

we had a wonderful time in utah, and are sad to say we had to come back to the heat. it was beautiful up there, we even wore pants one day!! yipee! nathan got in a golf game with the bro in laws, and a byu football game with the fam. he was in heaven. i had a good time too, just grateful that heather had a pump and everything else i forgot! i told nathan i was forgetting a lot, but he just brushed me off. little did i know that i left the prescription tummy meds for rachel, brought a too small shirt for colby for church, no church pants for caleb, bekah's dress was too short, no tennis shoes for the kids, sunscreen, pump..... the list goes on. it was ridiculous!! doesn't that always happen? in my defense, it was a very busy day before we left! i survived the missionaries, and apparently didn't screw it up too bad, cuz they are coming today with another investigator!
also, on sat we went to seven peaks, a waterpark, and kept rachel under the umbrella for all but 10 min where i brought her out, sitting in my shadow in the water to cool off. she had on a sleeper covering her arms and legs, the only thing not covered was her head. well, she got a massive sunburn!! under her right eye and cheek blistered, oozed, blistered then scabbed. it looks like she has a bad case of road rash. i am an awful mother!! colby got massively burned a couple years ago. i shouldn't be allowed to have kids!
well, back to the grind with 30 pages of homework for the kids, sheesh, they do a lot of work in one day!! and i learned yesterday that rebekah has ordered a pbj sandwich for lunch all week. i wanted to strangle her! i am paying for that!! ug. i told her i could make that for her, and she said, ok, where's my lunch? we were going to the car!! i told her she had to eat a hamburger today. what a nerd!
